Shauna McKinney MD – Fellowship Trained Fertility Specialist in Oklahoma
A native Oklahoman, Dr. Shauna McKinney was born and raised in Owasso. She received a full academic scholarship to the University of Tulsa and was selected into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
Upon graduation, she accepted a position working with Dr. Thibodeaux in the embryology laboratory at Tulsa Fertility Center. It was her work with fertility patients at TFC that solidified Dr. McKinney’s decision to pursue a career practicing reproductive medicine. She subsequently completed her medical education summa cum laude at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and a recipient of the prestigious Dean’s Award.
Dr. McKinney went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She continued at Vanderbilt as a fellow in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery where she developed expertise in minimally invasive surgical techniques including operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy for the treatment of endometriosis, fibroids and pelvic adhesions. Following residency, Dr. McKinney completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. She is board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. McKinney is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Medical Association. Her special interests include general infertility, polycystic ovarian syndrome, recurrent pregnancy loss and premature ovarian failure,
